Chic-O-Stara Pluimvlees B.V. is an international poultry trading company, established in 1984. We offer a wide range of frozen poultry products, which we mainly source from our large network of producers all over Europe.

Our focus is the european food industry and wholesale- and catering branche, but we also trade indirectly with countries outside Europe, mainly in South America, Asia and Africa.

Our company name

The name of the company stems from the name Ostara, the German Goddess of Spring. Every year in March the Germans celebrated the turn of dark into light. As a symbol of fertility her servant, a hare, handed out eggs. For this reason people still eat eggs at Easter.

In some languages the name Ostara can still be found in the word for Easter (‘Ostern' in German for example).

Anyway, Ostara's activities resulted in lots of hens all over the world, the core-business of Chic-O-Stara Pluimvlees B.V.!
